Dear Residents,

SCMC had clearly announced the deadline of June 30, 2013 for the payment of ad hoc maintenance charge for the month of June 2013, after which the DG support will be cut for apartments who have not paid up. SCMC waited for almost two further weeks hoping all will pay,

Finally, SCMC was compelled to disconnect DG support  to some 325 apartments who had not paid.

SCMC is also sad to inform the community that some 25 cheques were returned by the bank, some even for want of sufficient balance; Some residents dropped cheques later than the deadline but 'intelligently' dated it to a date earlier than the deadline.

Therefore, SCMC insisted that defaulting apartments have to pay only through DD/ Bankerr's draft or EFT followed by an email with the full transaction and apartment details.

Over the last 24 hours we have received several phone calls and in-person requests to accept cheques instead.

Considering such requests, SCMC has decided to relax the payment procedure and will accept the cheques in good faith, if accompanied by a declaration that if the cheque is returned for any reason whatsoever by the Bank, they will pay an additional penalty of Rs. 1000/-

Please understand that DG connection can not be restored immediately on giving the cheque. Cheques can be processed / EFT verified only during office hours.  It may take a few hours to 48 hours depending on the availability of staff and other higher priority work.

Please do not pester the maintenance department. They will restore DG support only if s=instructed to do so by SCMC.

Thanking you,

For SCMC
